Hello! We are

World Travellers & Passionate worldschoolers

Full-time travellers since 2018 always through community

FURGO

3 and 5 years old were the ages of our kids when we left our home in the Canary Islands to discover a new way of living our lives. We left and travel in our campervan, but soon we realize our travels were beyond the limits of vanlife and since then we travel and experience life in many differente ways. Once on the road it was naturally for us to search for community. We all need people and in this path, although we are very comprehensive and adaptable, we frequently aim for openminded families with whom we can talk, make deep conections and relax because all the typical questions are no longer relevant. At the same time, together, we explore a destination or learn about a new culture enjoying new places.

Carla
(worldschoolers call me Carli)

I’m Carla, the mum and the head of all the event-activity organization in the family. Education was my trigger for all this movement and I’ve never stopped researching and learning since I had kids. The thing I like most is meeting new people, making conections and learn from everybody I met. Ah! I also call anything a party.

Previous Organiced and attended Events

Organiced  Events

We have kind of a history organizing  events that came from the beginning of our life, events for friends, but also formal summits when I work in science as a resercher, or for kids through science divulgation workshops. But let’s star just back in 2016 when we were already planning our big change of lifestile.

  • 2016/2017 – Alternative meetings for families in camper
convoy

The common camper meeting where no longer for us when we start living as a family so we just create our own alternative meetings, where the planification was thought for all ages and activities were for the whole family together. Everybody had to play! We organized several of this just for friends and friedns of our friends.

  • 2019 – Local coordinators for the Project Worldschool Family Summit in Granada, Spain.

We were the ones that look for the perfect city in Spain for Lainie’s Summit, Project Worldschool Family Summit. We choose Granada and we find the place for the venue. We were in contact with all the families (up to almost 300 people) helping them with logistics, directions, renting cars, laundry, food, market, and also proposing and organizing some local activities and gatherings when the summit ended at the end of the day, an also the previous and the later days. It was an amazing experience!

  • 2020 – Camper Convoy in Tenerife, Canary Islands.

When the corona pandemia hit the world we were in Mexico, but by June 2020 we could fly back to Tenerife, Canary Islands, where we manage to organize a formal and official Camper Convoy Families. A route of 10 days in the island sewed through a local leyend about Guayota, the evil God of the «Guanches», that lived inside volcano Teide. Activivities for all the family, games and workshops, cooking together, watching the stars during the night, crafting different things while moving following a route to discover Guayota’s dwelling and helping defeat him.

  • 2022 – Minecrafter meeting
We created a two days gathering of 3 hours each day for kids from 7 to 13 to play Minecraft together. We had a schedule with a wellcome and presentations where everyone shared how they like minecraft, what were they good at or what they would like to achieve. They make a plan together to defeat the END Dragon. There were also space for crafts for the little siblings that came. Even parents learn a lot because they never really saw theirs kids playing and sharing like that with other mates and in group before.
  • 2023 – Planeta Worldschool Summit

We organized the first Planeta Worldschool Summit for the spanish speaking families. It took place in Valencia, Spain and 100 people were present during 4 very intense days. Talks, workshops, play, crafts, a lot of sharing and connections were made around our topic of interest: worldschool and everything inherent from travel, education and remote jobs, to family health and wellness. Kids had their own space with tons of activities, materials and freedom to use it. It was an amazing experience that we will try to repeat soon.

  • 2023 – Valencia worldschool Pop-up

We host a 1 week pop-up, coorganized with Rachel from Worldschool Pop-up Hub in Valencia, Spain becouse I have roots that attache me to this city. 7 incredible days with chating at the beach, playing in big playgrounds, eating the goodies from Valencia, even cooking paella!, a biking day through the city and many more activities and oportunities to connect between kids and grown ups.

  • Online – Workshops, webinars, memberships, talks, interviews and spanish speaking online community

Since 2020 I have created different resources for parents who need information, mentorship, guide or just learn how to find community. I create the website Planeta Worldschool with tones of info (in spanish) about worldschool and unschool. I facilitate for free the spanish speaking worldschool community online and answer every person who reach me with questions about education and travel being spanish. I also offer different servicies that you can find here.

Attended Events

  • 2018 – Project Worldschool Family Summit Chian Mai, Tailand.

This was out first contact with the amazing worldschooling community during 5 days, the whole day, listen, talking, sharing. This summit set the compass for our way of living. We made deep conections with families that are still in our life and plans.

  • 2019 – La Herradura, Andalucía, Spain

We visit La Herradura. It used to exist a permanent hub there with organized activities. We spend Halloween there and reinforce connections with families we met at the Granada Summit. Nowadays, La Herradura is still a neuralgic point where families go to meet and share. Everything very informal and organised by the families there in each moment.

  • 2020 – Project Worldschool Family Summit Playa del Carmen, Mexico.

After we co-organize the Summit in Granada we attend the next one in Mexico. Once again we were surrounded by a hundred of people that question everything and are open to hear from everyone and in everyplace. We catch up with families that were already friends and met with new ones. Then we were stuck there during the quarantine, at least we could co-live with other worldschooler families.

  • 2021/2022 – Worldschool Bansko hub, Bulgary.

We attend a 3 months hub in Bansko during the winter. A town in the mountains with a lot of snow but sunny. We co-live in the same building of apartaments with the other families so kids could go up an down visiting their friends and also reach the commun room for activities in 10 seconds. It was an amazing time and we met so many families.

  • 2023 – Normandy Worldschool Pop-up Hub, France.

We were in Normandy for 1 month with a couple of worldschooler friend families, sharing and re-connecting. We all attend the Normandy Pop-up hub, a 7 days gathering with activities, museums, historical visits, beaches, barbecues next to a medieval castle and even a very special event: a Prom for the kids that otherwise would’t have one becouse they educational path is an alternative one.

Why are we doing this?

Because we love worldschooling and part of that is worldschooling with others! Because People IS the real trip. Every person is a carrier of the culture, the stories, the songs and the tales and that’s what we love the most, sharing time with different people and making friends that we can keep on meeting in different parts of the world.

Don't miss a bit!
